Arabic Beginners 1
The aim of Arabic Beginners 1 is to provide students with a basic knowledge of ‘standard’ Arabic, which is the dialect common to the entire Arabic-speaking part of the world and not specifically associated with any given country or region. A good grounding in Modern Standard Arabic is the basis from which learners may progress to the study of vernacular forms, such as Egyptian or Levantine Arabic.
No previous knowledge is required.
Arabic Beginners 2
A natural progression from Arabic Beginners 1. The course builds on a student’s knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic in both the receptive skills (listening and reading) and the productive skills (speaking and writing). Grammar is introduced largely in the context of conversation drills and dialogues based around particular activities. The course is taught in English and Arabic, and a variety of materials specifically created by our teachers are used alongside the main textbook.
To be able to join Arabic (MSA) Beginners 2 you should have completed a Beginners 1 course, or have an equivalent knowledge of guided learning hours (approximately 20 hours)
Arabic Beginners 3
Arabic Beginners 3 is a natural progression from Arabic Beginners 2. The course builds on a student’s knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic in both the receptive skills (listening and reading) and the productive skills (speaking and writing). Grammar is introduced largely in the context of conversation drills and dialogues based around particular activities. The course is taught in English and Arabic, and a variety of materials specifically created by our teachers are used alongside the main textbook.
To join Arabic (MSA) Beginners 3 you should have completed a Beginners 2 course, Upon successful completion of Arabic (MSA) Beginners 3, learners can progress to an Elementary level course in Arabic.
Arabic Through Culture
Suitable for complete beginners. This course is focused on speaking and listening, but differs in the methods used to teach basic Arabic i.e through using songs, poems, food and learning about dance. A must if you would like to combine learning Arabic with creative activities!
The course will develop your competence in speaking and understanding spoken and written Arabic at an intermediate level. The course also aims at improving fluency and accuracy in communication and will deepen your knowledge and understanding of customs, traditions and daily life through-out the Arab region.
